FAQ

  1. I want to be notified when there are updates on blog posts or this website. How can this be set up?
Great! You can simply subscribe to updates by adding your email address here. You can also keep in touch via Facebook and/or Twitter.
  2. How quickly/slowly should I drink the water in between drinks?
The slower you drink the water, the better. I generally try to drink it at the same pace as I would my alcoholic drink. However, I have been guilty of sculling the water when I’m really keen to get to my next drink =P.  Even if you scull the water – although it isn’t the best way to do it – it still helps a lot.  (Not sure if “scull” is an Aussie slang, but just in case I am referring to “one shot” it or drink really quickly)
  3. How does this apply if I am drinking during a meal?
You can drink less water if you’re drinking while eating. You may even be able to get away with not having any water while eating, since the food helps take the edge off the alcohol. However, you should stick to ONE FOR ONE if you are going to continue drinking after your meal is finished. Experiment with a few variations and see what suits you best.
  4. Some bars will have self serve water and glasses readily accessible. But the glasses are small, and I can’t be bothered walking back and forth pouring water for myself all the time. What do you do in this situation?
Just ask the bar tender for a tall glass, and you can use that (e.g.: a midi or schooner glass).
  5. Should I drink tap water or soda water?
Which ever you prefer! Some may prefer the soda water, as the carbonated water, gives it a similar feel to a beer. I prefer to drink tap water because it’s free!=) If I’m in a country where the tap water is not suitable for drinking, I’ll go for bottled still water.
